I am a professional artist with 10+ years experience and successfully exhibiting my artwork at El Paso Finest Gallery in El Paso Texas. I participate in local exhibits and venues in the El Paso area. The gallery is located at 314 N. Mesa Street, El Paso, Texas.

Lisa works out of her studio in Santa Teresa, New Mexico and creates a painterly and loose style while achieving a realistic look in her paintings. She is known for her luminous and richly colored landscapes of the El Paso area, Italy, Mexico and various scenes of missions and still life that capture her imagination. I am a local artist and exhibit my artwork at the Tubac Arts & Gifts gallery in Tubac, Arizona. I work in oil medium and acrylics. Tubac is a quaint little town just south of Tucson. Hello Marfa – Memories Past and Present a solo exhibition by artist Lisa Matta, an El Paso local artist, will open at Greasewood Gallery inside the The Hotel Paisano, 207 Highland Ave., Marfa, Texas on August 29, 2025, with a reception from 6:00 – 8:00PM. On view through September 27, 2025, the exhibition features a series of works inspired by the architectural landmarks of Marfa, Texas. Drawing on her deep personal connection to the town – where generations of her family lived and continue to live – Matta’s paintings bridge memory and place honoring the rich character of Marfa’s west Texas environment while reflecting on the stories they hold.

Long before it became the charming Italian deli it is today, the building originally served as the Highland Gas Station - a roadside station dating to the 1930's or '40s, located along U.S. 90 just east of Marfa. The station's "ghost sign" remains visible to this day, a nostalgic relic of its service station past. Later the structure was repurposed and renovated into the tourist friendly space that houses the fabulous Bordo Italian Deli.
